dont know if its possible or not on yours, but on my ozone 08 bars ive covered the depower with pvc tubing £1 a metre from b and q , i was having to replace them every 3 months or so but not now.

I found a simple solution that has worked for me, good old graphite powder. I simply rub the powder into the lead area and that's it. Simple, works and cheap.

Another thing to check is the metal insert in the bar. Flexi bar inserts wear out very easily and then start to eat depower ropes. You can but the inserts from 'kite-kit'

Also you can buy PU coated flexi depower line replacements. Bit more expensive than the standard version but i'm sure they will last alot longer

You need wax candle and hairdryer.

Warm rope with hairdryer, rub in candle wax, repeat until the rope is nice and saturated.

When it dries it's not sticky (sand does not stick to it) and you don't get covered in horrible greasy stuff.

My atom/ion bar has been good for 2yrs plus.

Another vote for cold watert surf wax. Waxed all my bars. Rub it in, ride a few sessions and theb rub again. Will be a bit sticky for the first sesh then will be fine.

Do what I did....change it for a strap depower!! lol My LQ rope was starting to fray...this is mainly caused by the salt water corroding the cleat teeth and in extreme cases(like mine) the teeth were broken in a couple of places! Rope chafing on corroded cleat teeth=slippy depower rope!! Moral of story is wax your rope and wash bar/lines and depower with fresh water after every use!
