How to prevent your depower rope wearing down? ideas?

Over time and use I've noticed my depower rope wearing down and the carbon in the centre of my bar eroding, anyone got any bright ideas on how to prevent or prolong the damage?

    Depower rope lubricant

See that link bro. Cold water surf wax is best. Or some kind of plastic tubing.

Rub the wax on all over the rope. Use a few times it'll stop being sticky and go black from the carbon. rub some more on and use again. Jobs a good un.

If you smother it in wax or vaseline, make sure you don't put it down on the beach, it will get smothered in sand, which will stick to it, next time you use it you will have a rope saw cutting your bar in half.

i go through a depower rope every 2-3months, no big deal just replace it, i can squeeze about 50-60 sessions out of one before they look tired
