    stop rust paint

    I am remove paint and rust from Libre disk wheels.
    What I will paint to stop rust ?
    Please let me know

    sanded mine down, gray primer and the blue hammerite

    remove the rust if you can - if you cant then remove as much as poss and then paint with either hammerite or rustoleum - apparently rustoleum is better because it doesnt chip or crack like hamerite does -

    if you dont want to use those two then remove rust then prime with zinc primer and then paint whatever colour you want

    I had a rusty old wrought iron gate to my garden when i first moved in. I gave it a lite brushing with a wire brush & painted it with Hammerrite. This was done about 8 years ago & there's no sign of rust coming through.

    hammerite no primer


    the primer stops the chemicals in the haammerite from pickleing the metal but takes an age to fully cure ( touch dry quite quick though )

    I had asked**sand blast and they said it is £30 each disk wheels, they are rip off.
    I had removed it by wheel, it is quick.
