    (Cambridge) Weekend chill out place.

If anyone is interested our local flying site is open for camping at weekends with loads of room for kiting.
The site is open from Friday evening's until Sunday evening's.
Great for the whole family with loads of room to play (well over 100 acres) and clean toilets.
A map of the whole site can be found HERE
If you would like to fly here you will need valid insurance.
For more info PM me or send an e-mail to camping@lodestarfestival.com Or visit http://www.lodestarfestival.com/

Ill let Sparkie answer the the second questions as he's the man.

But its BLOODY big and perfect for wind in every direction. having just returned this evening from checking it out. i was very pleased the wind had dropped as i couldn't fly anyway!

we took a short walk across a couple of the feilds (6 in total) and they are in fantastic condition with some obstacles to avoid if you want a challenge or in the others fields there nothing until you hit the edges of the filed!!

Perfect for expert freestylers (jumping the ditches and rushes looks like it will be fun) and perfect or those who want loads of space to get the hang of flying kites!

Im already hooked on the site and not even touched a kite there yet!!!

    Hay Afro,
During the week the farmer catches up on grass cutting and the up keep of the place.
Its under 16s free and £10 p/p to camp from Friday evening to Sunday evening so you can fly the whole weekend if ya want..

so no kiting allowed during the week then, or just avoid whichever field the farmer is in?

edit; i know someone that lives very nearby, and will be visiting them soon, so it would be awesome if i could stop by...

I'm an hour from this place and it's technically a better price then my usual pilgrimage grounds. Any idea if the farmer would be up for doing a day rate without camping? I'd happily pay a fiver for a day. I assume BPKA insurance is okay?

Hi Afro, there is a couple of us who fly during the week.
It has taken us 3 years to get to know the farmer well enough..
Best thing to do is have a weekend there and have a word with him.
where abouts would you be staying.
Perhaps we could hook up and i could take you there in the week.

The surface is great for boarding. Its always as short and smooth as a football pitch.
The size of the whole place with the camping area is 205 acres.
