    Milton Keynes Gathering 7/8th August

OK as you may have seen in this thread we have a gathering at our site in MK.

As the site is only 7 Acres it woud be good to know who is planning on being there on which day so that we can start panicing accordingly!

    Just for the record:
    • Its a field! Nothing more, nothing less ie no facilities!!!!
    • The event is aimed primarily at semi local flyers who may fancy flying somewhere else every now and then. While we would love to be able to do something like MW, it aint big enough please do not come if you are over 1 hours travel time away.
    • BBC Insurance or equivalent NO CARD NO FLY!
    • Unfortunately we cant have any camping due to limited space or facilities

To try and give us an idea as to when to panic with numbers can you please vote in the poll so that we can get an idea of numbers and you yourself can see if one day will be better than the other.

I'm meant to be going to the zoo with my girlfriend and her family. But that will leave me in MK when I get back so I'll pop over and get the kite out if it's not too busy

    No probs!!

But dont forget you cant go to the zoo for two days!!

Farmer has also now harvested the crops that you can just see in the top RH corner of the piccy, If you are in a buggy you should be able to ride over the stubble (you may bot want to, but its always an option)
We will check with the farmer if we can scoot onto that bit alwell for the weekend as that will neraly trebble the space!! WOO HOO!!! (subject to permissions and big wheels!! LOL)

Looking forward to a change of kite sites as normally use the Race course in Northampton but it tends to be very gusty and full of dog walkers

    see you there

OK Nice Mr Farmer man has said use the lot!!!

So we will have 7 acres of perfectly groomed grass and another 15ish acres of recently harvested land.
Obviously you choose where you want to ride but the option is there if you want it or if space gets tight!!

So we now have over 20 acres to play with if we want it!!!

Dont forget to let us know if you are coming!!

South West through North North East are best for the field with NW being the absolute best.
Winds at the moment as you say are hinting at:
SSE (Sat) and ESE (Sun) according to Metcheck
WSW (Sat) and (Sun) according to Weather.co.uk

Weather.co.uk prediction is preferable but its best to see what they have to say on Fri / Sat morning

On XCWeather the station to check is the Cranfield one (its about 6 miles away)

Central MK train station is about 7 miles away. This is on the line that comes out of Euston. Tone said he was thinking of coming up, hes in North London, might be worth a PM??
If not I'm sure somebody could grab you from a station if it came to it - Drop me a PM if interested in trying to sort out a pick up.

    OK....

Plan is that there will be people on site from about 9.00am on both days.
the Weather Gods look as if they may be a bunch of gits so if anybody is in the know could you please have a word

It is predicted we will have wind and Sunday is currently edging ahead as the better day(direction and dryness), but hey what do weathermen know!

Rob, I'd fancy coming over with the missus but neither of us have insurance. We only static fly at the mo. Is this a problem or is it possible to sort out in a couple of days?

    Cheers.

BBC insurance is aimed at Traction (boards/Buggys/Surf etc) activities only in any case (if it aint moving you aint covered) no probs in popping over just be aware that people who are moving will need more space, if you stick to an edge there should not be any problems
