Any more details Natz, how big a do is it, on a par with Sunderland?

I heard Northern Freestyle have some sort of event on this weekend, is this the same on?

Is it more of a demo day type thing?

Sunderland Kite Festival is in 4 weeks time too, was going to stick a thread up, but thought I'd wait till nearer the time, or it'll get buried.

It seems we can't add things to the calendar on here anymore, I tried yesterday.

The very same! In which case, it's not going to be massive, but Mike from Flexifoil will be there, and there will be equipment to try...

So yes... it's a small, but fun event!

May see yas there then! If not, at the Sunderland event!

Hope that helps! Luv Natz x

Probs not, cos the tides are spot on here this weekend, so think we'll be on our beach.

I'll be at the Sunderland one though in July no doubt.

Cheers for the info though, have fun!

So you organise one then! I'm sure there are plenty of us that would like an excuse to check out the south of Ireland.

Last year's was plenty big enough to be really good fun...

It's a better day all round than the Sunderland gig - plenty of room to bring your own kit along and fly, a fantastic beach, and the "personal touch" from Nigel and the rest of Northern Freestyle.

Did you have any decent wind up there today. May as well have had a run up, the wind here was rubbish all day. I guess it's on tomorrow too (well, today now...lol). What time does it start, is there plenty of room so you aren't in peoples way, if you're a newbie/intermediate buggier?

Was just thinking yesterday, I hadn't seen your name on here in a while KK.

Hi HD - yeah, I've been "out of the loop" for a while - no time, injury (not kite related), ongoing problems with the forum not recognising my password... and, to be honest, a bit of a loss of interest.

I'm starting to get the bug again though.

The wind here (Blyth) has been fairly pap up to now (12:45 ish), so I haven't bothered getting out, but it seems to be picking up, and Druridge is always good for a few extra mph compared to my beach.

There should be loads of room at Dru for you and your buggy.

Hi KK, sorry to hear you lost the bug, I felt like that a bit when I did my knee in, got it back now though.

Wind was rubbish today though, too hot, and sunburn killing me from yesterday, so just went to Catterick Market with the Mrs...she was spending my future kite fund, but I managed to restrain her....lol

It was even hotter there, very uncomfortable.

Just got home... via the pub!

It was a nice chilled weekend; our lot camped there, and Nige threw a nice BBQ & party, complete with jam session from the Deej dude!

Wind was a bit pants; light onshore breeze in the mornings followed by light gusty westerlies in the afternoons... but, the company was excellent and the music on the beach was cool.

Keith, it must have been you with the yellow 12m at the South end of the gathering today?? I meant to come and say hi, but I was intercepted on the way, and was also frustrated trying to board on those darn sand ripples!!

Anyways, apart from the ripples, a damn good weekend - thanks Northern Freestyle, and the Flexi team (Mike & Charlie)!!! And everyone who turned up!

    Luv Nat xxx

Must've been right down the coast then, our wind was like that yesterday, and the beach was also very ripply. Not normal for our beach, it's normally smooth. Weird weather !
