The first ever Student Kitesurf Nationals comes to Calshot Beach on 20th & 21st March 2010 for 2 days of competition riding.
Hosted by Southampton University Kitesurf Club, and sponsored by King Of Watersports, Kamikaze, Flexifoil, Hooked On, Naish, Prolimit, Aquapac & Beach Break Live, the event is aimed at the cream of university kitesurfers. The format is pure freestyle with the emphasis on free; old school tricks are as welcome as super, kite low, s-bends!
Competition will be fierce as 52 competitors, together with spectators from 26 universities fight it out both on and off the water in the battle to secure the title for their university whilst event media partners ExPix capture all the action.
Judging will be done by a number of pro riders including Ali Barrett and James Boulding, with help from industry guru James Longmuir. Twice British kitesurf champion Lewis Crathern will be commentating and the Red Bull DJ in his beach tee-pee will keep the crowds entertained and satisfied with enough Red Bull to quench the thirst of a small army!
Competition prizes include a holiday from Hooked On, 2 top of the range 2010 wetsuits and sector 9 longboard from King of Watersports, Naish golf bag, Prolimit Harness, Aquapacs and Beach Break Live festival ticket.
Saturday night will see the host of the typical Student Kitesurfing Association (SKA) party at Southampton University Student Union Bar. ExPix will amuse the crowd with a display of images from the day’s action together with live up dates of the night time antics!
Special thanks go to the guys at Solent Sailboards and the BUCS student windsurf nationals organisers whose help has been invaluable in the preparations for this event.

I'll be in the shop over the weekend, so come in & say hello. Im off Thursday Friday (kiting Calshot more than likely) so if anyone's down saaafampton way & going out for a bit of last minute practice stick up a post & let us know
. Next year we're hoping to have a few tour stops so that we can expand and get more people involved. If you've got time definitely come down, should be a really good event
