    use kiteboard as wakeboard?

hey, I was wondering, is it possible to use my spleene rip34 as a wakeboard? I watching some videos online and it looks like the footpads or whatever were like boots connected to the board whereas I just have straps? Wasn't sure where to post this either..

Yes you can use a kiteboard as a wakeboard but its hard work in comparison due to lack of rocker.

Used my kiteboard few times no problem at all before I bought a wakeboard but loving the wakeboard now, much more control.

I also prefer the locked in feel of wakeboard bindings for wakeboarding. Both sets of equipment are designed for each sport and for sure behave very differently. Don't mind wakeboarding with the kiteboard though, good for teaching people board skills without the kite.

And you won't want to hit the kickers/sliders with a kiteboard as you will ding the sides and rip off the fins.

Not sure what a kicker/slider is, i wasnt looking to go up beams or anything, i was just lookg to go out in the ocean and try to stay on top of the board, ive never kiteboarded or wakeboarded, i think i waterskied a few times as a kid though. I want to see what it would be like riding the board mainly and just try to turn and whatnot, not looking to try any crazy stuff..

its easier to get up on a kiteboard as you don't have to put as much weight on your back foot as the board is more flexible they also plane at a lower speed. However its much better with a wakeboard, much better feel loads more pop and feels a lot more secure.

i wakeboarded for the first time lastweek, it was good but my kiteboard isn't long enough nor does it have enough rocker.

It's a lot harder than it looks. I was deciding 'which' tricks I was going to be pulling before my first session and found I was fooked after a couple of laps on the cable just hanging on and getting round the corners. Damned sight harder than kiteboarding IMO. That might be just me though.

Its awesome though and have been on the weights and stuff since and lovin it.

they are fine! but they catch edges easier....wreck fins on ramps and sliders....dont ollie or switch that well....but you can turn so easily...

    my experience (wake and kite)

    wakeboard for wakeboarding/cable
    kiteboard for kiteboarding

I have just learnt to railey on a kiteboard on a cable. I have been wakeboarding on and off for 6 years, and own a LF wakeboard, but there is no way I am going back to a wakeboard at the moment!

Bit of a comparison for u... MY kiteboard seems a lot less loose! (prob due to having bigger fins) Pop is definatly better, and it is lighter. The down side is it makes your ancles ache like made when hitting kickers and sliders, and your feet come out easier! Oh and I cant set the stance wide enough on wakeboard to get comfortable. It also runs a lot faster after tricks, so u need to kill the speed much more!

My advise try both, your riding will adapt!

    Hope helps
