Westward Ho! Beach - Summer Rules

The Winter season is now in full swing, the whole beach is open for use but we must still keep 100m from the ridge

KEEP TO THE 100m NO FLY ZONE FROM THE RIDGE

NO SETTING UP KITES, FLYING LAUNCHING OR LANDING IN THE 100M BANNED AREA AT ANYTIME EVEN IF THE BEACH IS EMPTY!!
To many Kitesurfers are ingnoring the 100m banned area and setting up, launching, landing in the incorrect place.
Also to many land kiters are also ignoring this banned area
....THIS MUST STOP OR WE WILL GET BANNED.
You cant just spill over the ridge and do what you like, there are rules set out by the council, you MUST walk 100m on to the beach....if there isnt 100m of beach YOU SHOULD NOT BE FLYING AS ITS NOT SAFE FOR YOU OR MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC USING THE BEACH!

NO FLYING IN THE CAR PARKS ON THE GRASS OR ON THE GOLF COURSE AT ANY TIME, NO SETTING UP YOUR KITES IN THE CAR PARKS

This weekend people were kiting on the grass and the golf course!
THIS WILL GET US BANNED VERY QUICKLY

Anyone know when the Winter season at westward Ho! starts again?? Their website is not working at the moment unless there is a new web address for them that I haven't found.

simple answer ....no not at high tide anyways, you must leave a 100m clear (thats 4 kite line lengths) from the pebble ridge at all times, this is a very strict rule set out by the council.

you will be able to use it early morning until around 11am probably but not much later i would have thought

What beach when the tide comes in at the Ho! it comes right in to the ridge... if high tide is 2:45 they you'll have to be off normally 2-3 hours BEFORE that to comply with the rules then a "good" 3 hours later you can get back on BUT on a 4.8 which isn't the biggest tide (they're normally around 7.0-8.0) it may be more like 3-4 hours BEFORE high tide which tallies with Craig's answer

Should be down for the week after Easter (13th to 18th April). Any special insurance or club membership required? Also does anyone know what the tides will be like for these dates please?

    Hi guys,

Just a thought, I'm pretty new to kiting. I went to Westward Hoe at the start of the year and wasn't aware there were any restrictions. I by no means want to upset any one or hurt anyone and just want to kite safely.
But we were obviously too close to the the ridge as a nice man told me so . The only reason being I was unaware of the rules and regs regarding this beach

Is there any signs at Westward? If not why not?

    Chris
