    NWPKC meet

Happy Birthday El's looking forward to seeing you in that new RS buggy, and to see you overtaking Eddie

What a pleasant evening, not an enormous amount of wind at first , it picked up about 8pm. Yet again buggy's outnumbered boards, the fun was watching Rob Hills & Adam kite jousting, hard to say who won in the end.

I had enuf trouble coping with the whiplash trying to look over my shoulder to see who was creeping up behind me. alright not creeping clocking it at a fair rate of knots.

Good crowd turned up and plenty of shenanigans going on,

Playing pass the kite handles or extreme handle tossing was hilarious, throw a pair of handles at someone whilst the kite is in the air see if they can catch them before loosing the kite. Plenty of running after one handle and untangling going on. Credit to Martyn for being the best catcher
Cheers everyone, a promising start to a good social event and nice sunset to finish off.
    Nem
PS Eddie you and El's might bump into Ian (Photographer - kite Jam) in Caberette Dom Rep as he's out there taking photos of the events.

Was it booked through Turbulence? We do quite a bit of that knid of thing but more Llandudno way.
Perhaps it's been booked and I'll not get told until a week before.
On many of the groups, they have all ticked the box to express interest in kiting, so all 30 kids leave stoked having flown a powerkite and maybe got it looping.

Nik - Some big open fields just near the camping areas last time I went, when it blows it howls across nicely.
Abersoch/Pwhelli is tight with powerkites and would be more stringent WakeStock weekend.

    Ed & El -

Lee :-) No worries, it was easy to find the hotspots, no problemo.
I'm about that 2 weeks your here, just before I go on a possible europe tour.
    Come up for another injury

Buggered now, been out on land all afternoon and then swapped boards to go on the water. Good to do the 2 sessions but I'm very rusty on the kitesurf.

    Rain is due Saturday evening

Rain is due Saturday evening [/quote]

Understatement of the year - Newsflash - Shell Island suffers Typhoon !!

Friday by the light of the silvery moon some folk braved the beach - Dave still singin Two wheels on my wagon la la la ....
Saturday ++ on the beach after the mandatory trip to Gelert Shop Saturday evening plip plop whoooosh
All through Saturday night Pothead & Nem up and down in between tents nailing them back into the ground cos of Huricane Blodwen with her 50mph wind & rain lowering to 29mph when Steve packed up. at 5.30am
Sunday morning mmmm survey the damage , too many tents to fit in the rubbish skips. Hope Micks Gazebo is salvagable. Then later Dave etc found time to have a play in 17 to 30 Knot winds.

New kites tried out over the weekend = Blizzard 4 ; Vango 3 ; Storm Force 10 ; not sure what Si was flying but it ended in 6.

Good to see so many Flyers from all over the UK and the comradary helping others break camp says it all.
Cheers everyone, and pleased to make your aquaintance those I'd not met before.

Bloody hell the wind was strong lastnight, I'm so tired now if it was'nt the hammering of pegs or the wind thrashing everything in sight keeping me up all night, or was the thought of all the gays right by my tent.
I did'nt bother going in today as it was just crazy winds.
Nice to meet everyone, see you all next time minus the Gazebo wich sadly passed away through the night. :-)

    WE SURVIVED!!!

Well never mind extreme sports, we just invented a new one called 'Extreme Camping' and no i'm not talking about our neighbours Think we may all have been praying to the wind Gods a little too well!

Thanks Bernie for suggesting that my tent may be salvagable, otherwise mine too would've been joining Pete's tent and Mick's Gazebo in the skip!

Really good to see everyone and to meet some new people. Was a good turn out, def have to do it again sometime. There is always KiteJam to look forward too aswell

Got to say thanks to Roger for all your advise and for keeping me grounded yesterday, did my first jump with my board whoo hoo.

Thanks to Natty for the brilliant cup of tea this morning, bless ya, I would make Phil make his own next time though lol

    See you all soon

I had a car full of girls who didn't want to come home...

The BBQ went really well and although I didn't manage to set fire to Mick's gazebo and destroy it, the wind did it anyway.

@ Lian... Natty says to say you're welcome for the cuppa. Phil only got one 'cos he smiled nicely and Natty's a sucker for a happy face!

What a weekend... Can't wait for the next one!

Right, time for bed... Warrington beckons in the morning for my new job. I hope I manage to wake up!

    See you all soon,
