Neither, I used CHDK, a firmware hack for Canon cameras. I downloaded a motion detection trigger script with a fast response of 60ms. Just put the camera on the window sill and left it running. Must have took a hundred pictures, that was the only one with the flash in the frame.
I emailed the picture to my local TV station, and they used it on their weather report yesterday, with my name on it. Woohoo! fame at last. Din't get paid though

That's a great shot, using an nd filter with a long exposure would also give good effect I'm sure. At least you got a mention which is exposure for you, have you tried sending it to the local newspaper?

Nope, I'm happy with my 15 seconds of fame :P

BTW my camera is only a compact (SX210), so a filter is out, and I tried long exposures before, it didn't work.
