When I used a fixed bridle bar I attached a leash to the leash rings on the side of my harness and just got spun round a bit. This is still not realy a good idear but with a small kite it won't matter too much. But the best way to do it is to get a leash atachment ring which attaches to the spreader bar, I'm not sure where you can get these, I got one free with one of my kites I think. Just fly it how you have got it already unless you have any big problems with it. You could always try wraping the the kite killer round the spreader bar. Just have a play with attaching it in diffrent places and see which works best for you.

If you don't have a problem with it don't change and it but if you start to use bigger kites with it you may start to have a problem.

Yeah we tried the ace but it was rubbish, the winds were constant onshores but weak as like 1 to 7mph, Ace couldnt fill up enough, we got the Cirrus out and took off the Bar, put the handles on and we were kicking ourselves for spending an hour on the Ace.

I was just practicing going up and down really, was hanging the kite low at 10 oclock the 2 on the other side, as i got more comfortable with the steering i started putting the kite a bit further in to the 12 oclock postition, practicing leaning back to stay on the board. Got the basics down. Toeside a bit advanced for me mate, only had one session so far lol.

I had a really great session today, learnt so much!!

Flew at Highcliffe Carpark extension, took the Cirrus 6m, pretty small grass patch..anyway but onshore winds SW, Was only blowing upto 9mph to start with, Had a few runs getting better and better everytime, The most Crucial thing i learned was leaning into it, once i got that down i was having no problems. Also as i was Flying Kite 9 to 10 before, now im flying from 9 to 12 and back again and getting some nice speed, swooping up and down from zenith to edge and leaning back and bending my legs, such a great feeling, Im hooked. I even went over a 2ft Bump, stopped changed direction and rolled back over it hehe, I just cant wait for some onshore constant 10 to 12 mph breezes so i can just hang the kite there and Roll.

    In short... Its Going well!

My brother had a laugh aswell although he slammed twice whilst realising the need to lean back when the kite pulls more towards 12 in the window, his trucks are quite tight too as its a new board, unadjusted, he was powersliding a few times lol unintentionally. I got carried away a few times and ended up on two wheels like Bond lol, just managing to lean back enough in time to stay stable.

Cant wait for the Onshores, heard somewhere they will be back next week i hope.

Im seriously learning alot on the board, and im sooooo addicted, ive learnt that i need more wind! haha, i see why its got to be windy for kitesurfing also. When i was flying static in about 15mph it was tough to stand in one place and harness the power on my arms, mostl;y arse scudding and feeling overpowered, but on a board, i see how i can use the power to get moving on the board across wind instead of being dragged downwind on my arse. The leaning back on the board is one of the best things, great feeling.

jack if you put the kite at 12 0clock and leaned back you'd just fall off the board plus you'd hardly be moving if at all,18months experience i dont think so.

can some clear up one little point for me, when people talk about 12 oclock, and 10oclock ect are they referring to a clock face as it would be on the ground ie, 12 is directly downwind and 9 and 3 would be the edges of the wind window, or are they talking about a clock face standing upright so 12 oclock would be directly over head, and again 3 and 9 being on the ground at the edges of the window, just a little confused by one of the above posts, about falling off if you leant back at 12

its like a clock face standing upright where 12 is the zentih (directly above) and 3 and 9 are the edges of the window.

So malcolms post would stand correct if you lean back with the kite at 12 you would infact just fall, as the kite has very little to no pull at the zenith yes ?

Not nessacarily (sp) If its at the Zenith at 12 oclock then hes right, but when there isnt much wind, it works well for me, although im not flying it right ay the Zenith, its at 12 oclock but its low in the window hanging the kite on its side, but when i say 12 oclock, i mean it not literally as im always moving the kite around if its not windy enough, and i get it at 12 oclock to get the power, then the kite pulls, i lean back and start moving, then the kite moves to 1 oclock or 11 oclock and it stays there and Pulls with out you haveing to move the kite(they call it parking and riding). Its difficult to explain really.

But i only fly it at 12 oclock 1 oclock and 11 oclock when its not very windy, if its windy enough you can hang the kite wider in the window like 2oclock and 10 oclock, if its windy and you try it at 12 oclock, 1oclock or 11oclock, your gunna have alot of power and if you aint used to leaning back then you will fall forward. Generally i dont fly the kite high in the window when im on the board.

jack, 12 o'clock is directly above your head (the zenith), there is no forward pull. what you are refering to is the centre of the powerzone which is in front of you, directly downwind.
