    Venues

    Hi all,

I'm fairly new to the game of flyin', and am struggling to find anywhere decent around my area where people possibly get together to fly stunters (generally need some trick tips without trial and error - gettin costly!).

Any suggestions to where to go, I tried Burton Dasset yesterday and also tried Dunstable the other week but it's mainly power kites just pullin around. (did see a sweet Rev SLE??)

Apart from local fields I don't suppose there's meets or anything on a semi regular basis?

    Cheers,

    Grimmie

    Hi Grimmie

You did Burton Dasset? Have you got any ankles left - its a bit bumpy!
In Cov there are a few places, but as I recently discoverd, Hersall Common is the place, just past Earlsdon, or if not there, the memorial park. Both places will have other people there though, footy players, dog walkers etc.
There's also Castle Farm in Kenilworth which is a few footy pitches in size, quite good for boarding/buggying, or if your just static flying, go to the abbey fields, forrest road side.
Apparently there's place near the M6 junction as well....but I dont know it. Somewhere in Hinkley as well I hear.....
    Hope that helps
    Tim

    Cheers Tim,

Burton was good actually, sheep were just as bad as the bumps though!!!!

I'll give the places you recommend a go, done Hearsall once or twice but it was mainly the big boys munchin the field on boards.

The place near the M6 you refer to, could be Sowe Common as I've seen a few buggies and stuff at weekends when there's no footy on.

    Cheers again,

    Grimmie

If you can travel to Evesham, the country park has a field dedicated to kite flying every Sunday.

The memorial park I found to be too busy with people and never had any wind each time I have been there.
